SteadyMed Launches Website, Social Media Campaign During Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness Month

SteadyMed recently announced the launch of BePHenomenal, a new website created to educate and empower people living with pulmonary hypertension (PH), a Thunderclap and a new social media campaign, #PHenomSelf, to recognize “strength and beauty” within the PH community. The announcements were made during PH Awareness Month earlier in November.

SteadyMed is a specialty pharmaceutical company developing drug products for orphan and high-value diseases. The company’s lead drug product candidate is Trevyent, a development stage product that combines the company’s PatchPump technology with treprostinil, a vasodilatory prostacyclin analogue to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

BePHenomenal offers specialized lifestyle information specifically tailored for PH patients, including videos with exercises, healthy nutritional recipes and real-life stories to inspire other PH patients, sharing how some people managed their condition and refused to let PH define them. Visitors to the website are can register to receive updates as new information arrives.

“BePHenomenal.com will help provide patients and their caregivers with health and wellness tools customized to their unique needs,” Patricia Gresha, expert nurse practitioner and program coordinator of the Fresno (Calif.) PH Program, said in a press release.

“The BePHenomenal.com website provides information about maintaining a healthy lifestyle by sharing wellness and exercise tips from PH patients and experts familiar with PH. I am inspired by this PHenomenal community, and am grateful to SteadyMed for continuing to help our voices be heard,” said Carol Bowling, a PH patient.

Included in the PH Awareness Month’s activities was SteadyMed’s invitation to join a Thunderclap celebrating the PH community. Thunderclap is a way to get people together on social media at the same time for a specific cause or special message. The Thunderclap was issued on Nov. 17 at noon ET.

Moreover, SteadyMed also launched a photo and video campaign on Twitter (#PHenomSelf) and Facebook encouraging those touched by PH to share what they are thankful for this holiday season.

“SteadyMed is dedicated to supporting the PH community, and we hope that BePHenomenal.com helps empower and inspire this community to live their most PHenomenal lives,” said Marylyn Rigby, SteadyMed’s senior director of investor relations and marketing.

“We are always excited to honor the incredible people in the PH community. We are especially grateful to do so during Pulmonary Hypertension Awareness month and look forward to sharing more amazing stories from members of this community through our Thunderclap and photo and video drive,” Rigby added.
